Beside the sea of clouds, Wen Ruan swung her little legs, feeling extremely happy.

Suddenly, a clear sound came from below.

The vast expanse of white clouds seemed to be disturbed by something, as if it was water in the midst of boiling. Soon, a crimson figure leaped out from within.

It was a red fish, massive in size like a mountain, with long and wide fins. When it opened its mouth and made a sound, one could see its sharp, cold glinting teeth.

In the blink of an eye, it swam to Wen Ruan’s front. Its dark eyes were firmly fixed on her, scanning her up and down before finally stopping on her hand. It greedily salivated and swallowed.

Wen Ruan…

Wen Ruan was dumbfounded.

How could she forget? This was Mu Zhe’s viewpoint.

The creature being kept here was most likely his pet.

There was no way the pet raised by the Demon Lord would be like a small dolphin performing in an aquarium…

The Northern Underworld Fish stared at her expectantly, opening its mouth in a well-mannered way.

Cold sweat instantly formed on Wen Ruan’s forehead.

Help! Why is this fish still staring at me?! And it’s even snarling its teeth!

She stared at the unidentified object stuck between its teeth. Her heart was pounding as she felt petrified, unable to move a muscle.

After an incense stick’s worth of time.

The impatient giant fish swayed its tail fin and let out a long cry. Its body suddenly shrank to the size of a car, attempting to nudge the hand holding the pancake.

The sensation on her hand’s back was different from the imagined sticky and slippery feeling. It was dry and warm, seemingly quite elastic.

Wen Ruan stiffened her neck and looked down.

She and the fish locked eyes.

Catching a whiff of the aroma from the pancake by her hand, the dark eyes of the giant fish brightened, continuing to gaze at her with anticipation.

But in Wen Ruan’s eyes, within the walnut-sized fish eyes, there clearly flashed a sinister light.

It was the malevolence inadvertently revealed by a ferocious beast when it encounters its prey.

She shivered and struggled to swallow the pancake in her mouth, sluggishly attempting to run, but her legs had long turned weak and she couldn’t stand up.

Meanwhile, the fish’s mouth continued to widen.

Under the fangs of the ferocious beast, she was on the verge of tears. “If you’re hungry, can I feed you fish food? I haven’t showered in three days, and I don’t have even a few ounces of meat on my entire body. I won’t taste good!”

The big fish: ?

It slightly moved its head away with a hint of disdain.

Before she could breathe a sigh of relief, it brought its head back and swiftly snatched the pancake from her hand, giving her a contemptuous look.

Wen Ruan: ?

The fish quickly finished the pancake in a few bites, hesitated for a moment, and then continued to nudge her hand.

Wen Ruan began to understand what was happening. She took out the last two pancakes from the food container and tentatively waved them in front of the fish.

“You want to eat this?” she asked.

The big fish happily wagged its tail fin and obediently opened its mouth.

She felt relieved, wiped the sweat from her forehead onto her sleeve, and threw the pancake into its mouth, muttering:

“If you want to eat it, just say so. Why scare people like that?”

The big fish tilted its head. …Chirp?

Tsk, as the Demon Lord’s pet, it can’t even speak.

Looks like it’s just an ornamental animal.

Her courage suddenly grew. She shook the pancake in her hand, revealing all her front teeth, and exclaimed excitedly:

“This is the last one. You better catch it!”

With a flick of her hand, the pancake flew through the air in a perfect arc.

The speed of the Northern Underworld Fish was so fast that only afterimages remained. In the blink of an eye, it rushed forward, resembling a starving tiger pouncing on its prey.

The movement was so skillful that it made people feel pity.

Wen Ruan placed her hand on her forehead and watched the scene, shaking her head with a sigh. “The Demon Lord really knows how to have fun.”

After playing with the fish for a while, she slowly stood up, stretched her limbs, and picked up the food container, preparing to leave.

“Chirp—”

The red fish bit onto the hem of her light blue clothes.

“It’s empty now.” She helplessly opened the food box, attempting to reason with it. “Look, there’s nothing left.”

The big fish still didn’t let go and dragged her towards the edge.

Seeing that they were about to fall into the sea of clouds, Wen Ruan panicked and stumbled, trying to pull her clothes.

“I’ll bring you some tomorrow, alright? Let go, let—!!!”

The ground disappeared beneath her feet, and a sense of weightlessness accompanied the sound of rushing wind. The remaining word got stuck in her throat.

Everything spun around her, and a thousand curses flashed through her mind. She landed on the soft red back of the big fish, lying down like a spread-out pancake.

The Northern Underworld Fish let out a loud cry, swimming and diving into the sea of clouds.

Wen Ruan, still shaken, sat up and nervously held onto its dorsal fin, subconsciously asking:

“Where are you taking me?”

As soon as the words left her mouth, she regretfully tapped her head. “I forgot that you can’t speak.”

Humans and fishes are different. She couldn’t figure out the other party’s intentions. She also didn’t dare to jump off midway.

She could only suppress her own anxiety and wait until they reached the destination.

She could sense that the fish didn’t harbor any ill intentions towards her, so she wasn’t worried about becoming its food. However, she was a bit concerned.

The Demon Palace was so vast. What if it left her behind? How would she find her way back?

“I hope you’re a fish that follows through.” She raised her voice, trying to overcome the wind and pushed aside the stray hair stuck to her face. The fair complexion of her face was also distorted by the wind.

“No matter where you’re taking me, you must bring me back!”

As if understanding her, the big fish responded with a call and accelerated once again.

After a while, the dense fog that was rushing towards them became less dense. It mixed with some moist spiritual energy, greatly improving visibility.

She stretched her neck and looked down, her voice filled with surprise. “Hot springs?! Have we already left the Demon Realm?”

Below was a small floral valley, filled with blooming clusters of fragrant snow orchids.

In the midst of the abundant flowers, water rippled gently and a mixture of mist and floral fragrance slowly wafted upward.

The big fish stopped on the open ground next to the hot spring, shook its body, and gestured for her to disembark.

Wen Ruan swiftly slid down from its back and eagerly reached out to scoop a handful of water from the pool.

She felt somewhat astonished.

The water contained pure spiritual energy, and just by touching it, she felt a soothing sensation throughout her body. Even her hidden ailments were healing on their own.

It was a great place for healing.

She surveyed her surroundings once again.

Flowers, hot springs, and a silly fish playing with its tail.

There was no endless snow here; it was warm like spring.

It had nothing to do with that gloomy Demon Realm.

“996, where am I now?” She gave up on communicating with the fish and poked the system in her sea of consciousness. “Have I really gotten out?”

“Host, you are still in the Demon Realm.”

996 was a system that remembered the good and forgot the bad. It had long forgotten Wen Ruan’s previous threats and had turned into a little chinchilla, happily rolling around in the flowers.

“This is probably a hidden realm, located beneath the sea of clouds, and it seems like no one has been here before.”

Wen Ruan felt relieved and looked at the steamy hot spring pool, feeling hesitant.

Why did the big fish bring me here?

Did it plan to boil me in warm water?

Although, this really looks incredibly comfortable.

In Canglang Water Pavilion, she would bathe using a wooden barrel, which was far less spacious than here.

“Chirp.”

The silly fish stopped its silly behavior and gently pushed her body, urging her towards the pool.

In the end, it gave her a complex expression, assessing her up and down.

This time, Wen Ruan understood.

It was a look of disdain.
